MMA Same Game Parlay of the Week: UFC Edmonton
UFC Edmonton Welterweight Fight: Joaquin Buckley vs Mike Malott
Start Time: 5:00pm EST (Paramount+)
For our same-game parlay this weekend, we’re going right to the main event. These fighters both pack quite a punch, but I believe we’ll see this fight go later into the championship rounds. During his current four-fight win streak, Mike Malott has been to decision twice. Meanwhile, Buckley has been to the card in four of his last seven. That should give us plenty of time to rack up some stats.
The stat I’m expecting to see for Buckley is the takedown game. He’s only picked up one takedown in his last three fights, and that’s driven up the price here. However, he’s fought nothing but wrestlers in those fights. If you go to the two fights prior to that, he racked up eight total takedowns and dominated on the ground.
For the Malott side, I like the significant strikes. Over his last five fights, he’s averaged 49 significant strikes per fight. 60% of those fights ended early and even the ones heading to decision were only three rounds. If this fight sees the fourth and fifth rounds, crossing that 50 strike mark should be no issue.
UFC Edmonton SGP: Joaquin Buckley 3+ Takedown and Mike Malott 50+ Significant Strikes = +475
