College Football Pick Of The Day (October 16th): NCAA Week 7 Spread Pick

Today’s college football pick of the day for Week 7 is looking at the UCLA vs. Wisconsin game. UCLA is 5-0 and ranked number 12 under first-year coach Bob Chseney. Wisconsin is 4-1. This line has moved after some injury news, but the Bruins remain a 2.5-point favorite.

UCLA’s offense has been built around a strong run game that ranks among the nation’s best in yards per game and efficiency. Wayne Knight and the backs have carried the load, and the defense has been reliable, including a road win at Oregon last week. The Bruins have also covered consistently this season.

Wisconsin has played solid defense and put together a nice winning streak, but their offense has been limited. Now they travel across the country into a tough home environment at the Rose Bowl. The quarterback situation for UCLA is the main question mark after Nico Iamaleava’s season-ending knee injury. It’s the reason this line came down.

Ty Dieffenbach is expected to start. However, he has experience, and the Bruins’ identity is run-first, which reduces the drop-off. Plus, he already showed he’s capable of closing in the Oregon game to win. Home field, superior production, and the ability to control the trenches give UCLA the clearer path.

The Pick: UCLA -2.5
