We’ve got another quiet day in store tomorrow in the NHL, with only two games on the slate. And, unfortunately, both have wide odds. But a win is a win, and we’re going to cash our bet regardless.
We’re backing the Minnesota Wild (5-2-1, tied for second in the Central Division) to beat the struggling Columbus Blue Jackets (2-3-0, second-to-last in the Metropolitan Division). The Blue Jackets’ main issue is their defense and goaltending, which allow 4.20 goals per game, ranking 29th in the league. The Wild, riding young netminder Jesper Wallstedt’s strong play in the absence of the injured Filip Gustavsson, have a top-seven defense and a 12th-ranked offense, led by Kirill Kaprizov.
The better team, playing on their home ice, there’s not much else to say here – the Minnesota Wild on the moneyline is my best bet to wrap up the weekend.
