College Football Pick Of The Day (October 17th): NCAA Week 7 Spread Pick
For today’s college football pick of the day for our last Week 7 pick, I’m looking at the Oregon vs. Nebraska game. The Ducks host the Huskers under the lights at Autzen Stadium in a Big Ten showdown that carries some extra weight. The Ducks are looking to bounce back after a frustrating 17-15 home loss to UCLA. The Huskers also lost last week to Indiana. The line sits at Oregon -7.
A unique part of this matchup is the Dylan Raiola revenge angle. Starting at quarterback due to an injury, he’ll face his former team after transferring away. He was also benched last week, which will also make him want to play well.
The travel and timing factor heavily against Nebraska. Kickoff is set for 8 PM Pacific at Autzen Stadium, which is a tough environment regardless of who’s playing Oregon. It’s also worth noting that that’s 10 PM Nebraska time. The Huskers’ body clocks will be pretty tired come the second half.
Nebraska has been a tough cover this season and owns a strong third-down defense. However, the combination of the late West Coast start, the Autzen atmosphere, and the emotional edge surrounding the Raiola reunion favors the home side.
The Pick: Oregon -7
