Football Pick of the Day (October 9th): NFL Week 5 Moneyline Pick
Las Vegas Raiders vs New England Patriots
1:00pm – Sunday – October 11th
On Sunday, we have a game between a pair of teams who really appeared to flip their scripts last week. After looking dead in the water with a quarterback who couldn’t do anything, the Patriots dug themselves out for a big win. The Raiders had cruised to a 3-0 record, but then ran into their first loss – and a home one at that.
Despite the issues on Sunday, I like the Raiders to win outright here. Their offense, led by Kirk Cousins, has been stellar each and every week. Apart from a slow first week, he’s put up at least 248 yards per game and they haven’t scored less than 26 points as a result. There are plenty of options at wide out for him to throw at and they have two different tight ends with Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer. The diversity should keep the Patriots on their toes.
While the Patriots woke up against the Bills and put up 29, they had been ugly prior to that. In fact, they had averaged just 12.0 points per game in the three games before that. While I do think they are better than those numbers, I think they’re due for some regression this week.
