Seattle Kraken vs Detroit Red Wings
Start Time: 7:00 PM EST
The Pacific Division’s Seattle Kraken and the Atlantic’s Detroit Red Wings are getting their season series out of the way earlier, with Game 1 going down tomorrow in the Motor City, with the return date in Seattle coming less than two weeks later. Not much was expected of the two teams headed into this season (80.5-point projection for the Kraken; 86.5 for the Red Wings), and they’ve done nothing to dispute that with 2-2 (Seattle) and 1-2 (Detroit) starts to the season.
However, Detroit was without Dylan Larkin, their former captain who now wants out of town, for the first two games of the year, and he returned with a goal and an assist in their 5-3 win on Monday. Plus, Seattle is now without a top-five defenseman in Ryan Lindgren, who will be out for an extended period due to an upper body injury.
All signs, models, and predictions have the Red Wings as a heavy favorite to win tomorrow night – somewhere north of 60% probability – so I’ll gladly take them on a modest moneyline as my best bet for Friday.
