Chiefs vs Raiders Prediction & Picks: NFL Week 4

The Raiders are 3-0 against the spread, the guys noted, and Ryan Kramer passed along a report that more Raiders fans are buying secondary-market tickets for this one, which he took as Las Vegas drifting back toward a real home crowd. That’s the setup for the home dog when the Chiefs visit the Raiders on Sunday, October 4 at 4:25 PM ET in Las Vegas, NV. The Chiefs were 4.5-point favorites with a total of 48 when the guys taped on September 30, and both hosts took the points on NFL Picks Week 4 (Ep. 2695).

Chiefs vs Raiders Odds

The Chiefs were 4.5-point favorites with a total of 48 when the guys taped on September 30, which had Las Vegas getting 4.5 points at home.

Our Picks

Ryan took Raiders +4.5 knowing the price isn’t a bargain. Anyone backing Las Vegas is buying at the top of its market, he conceded, but he thinks the Chiefs are priced near their own high point too. He called this another road back-to-back for Kansas City with the early bye on deck. He’ll grant that Mahomes looks good. He still hasn’t seen it from this offense, though, and thinks the Chiefs probably shouldn’t have covered against the Dolphins, who were a much easier test than the Raiders.

The matchups point the same way for him. The way to attack this Chiefs defense is with a good running game, and he thinks Las Vegas can do that. On the other side, the Raiders defense has found pressure in interesting ways and hasn’t been bad against the run, and he’s curious how Mahomes handles it. The pass rush against the Kansas City offensive line came up as well, since the Dolphins were getting to Mahomes.

Sean got there through the trends. He pointed out the Chiefs are 0-9 against the spread as a road favorite after a double-digit win, and he feels Mahomes has struggled as a road division favorite over the past few years. He expects some complacency from Kansas City in what he called the Raiders’ Super Bowl, a game where he thinks you’ll actually feel the crowd. The only thing that scared him was the Raiders covering all three games, and he chalked that up to a small sample.

Ryan’s last point was the total. He’s not a totals guy, but 48 looks big to him with both defenses playing better than most expected and both offenses built around the run. He can see a field goal game, which he called a great time to take the Raiders. They split on just one thing, the public side: Sean called Las Vegas a public dog, and Ryan thinks people will eat up the Chiefs.
