New York Mets vs Texas Rangers

Start Time: 6:35 PM EST

We’ve got an interleague series starting tomorrow in Texas, as the New York Mets, the last-place team in the National League East, visit the top team in the American League West, the Texas Rangers, for a three-game stay. The Mets’ playoff hopes faded away ages ago, while the Rangers are still in the battle, with their current playoff odds estimated at 49.2% to make the postseason.

And I expect Texas’s odds to increase after tomorrow night’s action. Not only are the Rangers the stronger team, but they are also the one with something to play for, so you’d expect more urgency from their side. Plus, despite taking two of four from the Philadelphia Phillies on the weekend, the Mets have been playing like a team with no future.

The better team, playing at home (where the Rangers are 44-34, 10th best in the majors), and playing with a purpose, the Texas Rangers on the moneyline is my best bet for Tuesday.
