We got a taste of college football last week, and now the full slate is here! We have Week 1 college football, and why wouldn’t we throw together a Moneyline dog parlay full of upset picks? There aren’t a ton of big dogs I’m looking at. However, these three have a great chance of hitting. Therefore, I’m putting them in a parlay together, as well as a round-robin parlay. Let’s take a look at the top college football moneyline dog picks I’m throwing in my parlay!
College Football Week 1 Moneyline Dog Parlay Picks
San Jose State (+126) @ Eastern Michigan
San Jose State visits Eastern Michigan on Friday at Rynearson Stadium. The Spartans are +125 on the moneyline and three-point dogs. This is a Group of Five opener with live upset written all over it.
Ken Niumatalolo’s club already played a game. San Jose State lost at Number 14th ranked USC 42-26. The score was even more lopsided until the Spartans rattled off 23 points in the fourth quarter. Hawaii transfer Luke Weaver completed 21-of-32 passes for 234 yards and two late touchdowns. He also ran for a score against the Trojans’ backups. Despite the loss, he was graded fairly highly by PFF for his performance. Craig Stutzmann’s spread-and-shred attack will test Eastern Michigan if the Eagles cannot rush the passer.
Speaking of Eastern Michigan, they start out 1-0 after a 28-17 win over Sacramento State. Noah Kim threw for 279 yards and two scores. This game is going to test our moneyline dog parlay right away due to Eastern Michigan having the home-field advantage and longer rest.
However, as the Week 0 game progressed, Weaver’s timing progressed as well. The Spartans do not have to beat a Power conference defense like they did against USC. They have to finish drives against a MAC front. This will be the first game on our monyeline dog parlay picks on Friday night, and I think the Spartans will kick us off on the right foot.
UCLA @ California (+108 )
California hosts UCLA on Saturday night at Memorial Stadium, and the Golden Bears sit as a short moneyline dog at +108. UCLA is only a 1.5-point favorite, so one late score can flip the result. Tosh Lupoi opens his first season as Cal’s head coach with a real quarterback advantage. Sophomore Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele stays in Berkley after a freshman year where he threw for 3,454 yards and 18 touchdowns. He also has new targets now in Ian Strong and Chase Hendricks to give him more help.
UCLA starts a new era under Bob Chesney. The Bruins keep Nico Iamaleava at quarterback after his rocky first season with them. Iamaleava can run and throw, but his consistency is questionable. Chesney is a proven winner from James Madison. However, he has to install Dean Kennedy’s offense on the road in a rivalry game that hasn’t been played since 2023.
The home-field crowd will make a difference in this one. Cal showed they can win close games when Sagapolutele can work the middle of the field and finish in the fourth quarter. That’s the exact reason why I love this game for my college football moneyline dog picks. It’ll be a great addition to my moneyline dog parlay because we aren’t hoping for a miracle. Just one stop and a late drive could do it.
SMU @ Florida State (+125)
Again, we’re not looking for massive spreads that are a hope and a prayer. We’re building a smart moneyline dog parlay with picks that show a team as slightly undervalued. With such a close spread in all of these, even Vegas knows it’s anybody’s game. We’re just looking for a couple of breaks to go our way.
That brings me to my last pick in the parlay, when SMU hits the road to take on Florida State on Monday night. The Seminoles are +125 dogs, and SMU is just a 2.5-point favorite. FSU already has a game under its belt. They beat New Mexico State 34-17 in a Week 0 matchup. Ashton Daniels started at quarterback and threw for 202 yards, one passing touchdown, and one rushing touchdown. Ousmane Kromah added 115 rushing yards. Mike Norvell wants cleaner communication, but the first-game rust is already behind this group.
Of course, SMU brings the better pedigree. Rhett Lashlee has Kevin Jennings, a veteran quarterback who has thrown for over 7700 yards and 55 touchdowns. Jennings is capable of beating teams with his arm and his legs. However, opening on the road and losing two key running backs from last year’s room is working against them. Tempo can always travel. However, crowd noise and early-season form don’t.
Most projection models put this game near a coin flip. That’s the point of my college football moneyline dog picks. FSU doesn’t need to dominate. They just need to run the ball, protect their quarterback, and force Jennings and the Mustangs into long drives. It’s not a 20-point flyer. It doesn’t have to be.
Putting these all together in a round-robin parlay, we just need to hit to cash. Three will pay us even more. The two’s pay +382, while the whole thing pays +957.
