Football Pick of the Day (September 3rd): NCAA Player Props
UMass Minutemen vs Rutgers Scarlet Knights
6:00pm – Thursday – September 3rd
After starting strong with three straight wins during the 2025 campaign, Rutgers fell on some hard times. They lost four straight after that and wound up finishing just outside of bowl contention. For that reason, I do think they’ll be playing with a bit of a chip on their shoulder. They’ll want to come out and make a statement, and who better to do that against than the worst team in all of the FBS?
UMass was a wreck last year and needs to turn things around when it comes to recruiting. It’s especially bad when it comes to passing defense. Last season, they allowed over 8.5 yards per attempt through the air. That should make it easy for Dylan Lonergan to feast.
The Boston College transfer showed signs of brilliance last season. He threw for over 2,000 yards, which includes 362 against a tough Georgia Tech team. He’s surrounded by more weapons, and if Rutgers wants to make a statement, he should be their guy to do it. As a result, I like the over on his passing yards. He should torch this number.
