Dallas Wings vs Toronto Tempo
Start Time: 3:00 PM EST
The Dallas Wings and the Toronto Tempo are the teams I’ve most often put my money on this WNBA season. The Tempo, as I expected, are better than most thought they’d be as a brand-new franchise. The Wings are much improved this year after the influx of talent they acquired over the past couple of seasons (Paige Bueckers, Azzi Fudd, Jessica Shepard), but the books (and bettors) haven’t caught up yet.
Toronto, however, have run into injury woes of late, with 20+ point scorer Brittney Sykes and top rookie Kiki Rice on the sidelines (top scorer Marina Mabrey is also banged up but will probably play tomorrow). This has resulted in the Tempo swapping wins with losses for the past few weeks. That swings the pendulum to the Dallas side for me.
After crunching the numbers, taking injuries and home court advantage into account, my line is Dallas -8, so the Wings on the spread on the road is my best bet.
