Golden State Valkyries vs Atlanta Dream
Start Time: 1:00 PM EST
Two of the WNBA’s top teams, the Golden State Valkyries and the Atlanta Dream, wrap up their three-game season series tomorrow afternoon in Hotlanta, with the Valkyries looking for the sweep after winning the previous two encounters on their home court.
I don’t like the visitors’ chances tomorrow, however. The Dream are the top team in the Eastern Conference (tied with the New York Liberty), sitting at 12-8, and are 6-2 on their home floor (the Valkyries are only 3-4 playing away from the Bay). There are some howevers to this breakdown, however (see).
Atlanta is currently in free fall, losing four straight games to fall into a tie with the Liberty. And, on top of owning the Dream this season, the Valkyries are surging, winning their last three games and seven of their last nine games.
So while my numbers say the Dream will win, they also say that the Valkyries will cover. My line is Atlanta -2, so I’m taking Golden State plus the points on the road.
