With the historic UFC Freedom 250 event (which shockingly went off without a hitch) in the rearview, the UFC machine rolls on with another Fight Night going down this coming Saturday at the Meta APEX in Las Vegas. Typical APEX slop, but at least the main event is meaningful. For my MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC Vegas 199, I’ve got a live dog on the prelims. Let’s get it on, c’mon!

MMA Underdog Pick of the Week: UFC Vegas 119
UFC Fight Night: Kape vs Horiguchi (aka UFC Vegas 119)
Start Time: 5:00 PM EST
I normally go striker over grappler with my picks (to great success), but I’m breaking that rule this weekend on a women’s bantamweight fight from the prelims. I’m taking Brazilian Luana Santos to beat her countrywoman, Karol Rosa, in the night’s third fight.
Rosa is a better striker than Santos, but incredibly inconsistent, having swapped wins and losses over her past eight fights (she won her last fight, so…). I’ll side with the much younger (by six years), much better grappling, and more consistent Santos to hang on the feet and get the job done on the mat.
