While the UFC continues to be the king when it comes to MMA and gambling, there is more MMA than ever to bet on now. Promotions all over the world as well as domestic ones are showing up in sportsbooks. The advantage here is that the data is usually quite a bit less sharp than when you’re making MMA predictions for the UFC. MMA Regional Pick of the Week: PFL Africa: Nigeria
PFL Africa Strawweight Fight: Juliet Ukah vs Elisandra Ferreira

A surprising fight that showed up on a PFL prelim pits the Invicta Atomweight champion in a fight with one of the rising stars of PFL Africa’s female scene. Elisandra Ferreira gets a fight to stay busy in a new promotion while Invicta FC gets their schedule in order. Meeting her will be Juliet Ukah, who has run her record to 9-0 professional – including three wins inside of the PFL Smart Cage.
From the outside, Ukah’s record looks incredible. She has handled everyone who has stepped in with her, but not necessarily in dominant fashion. While I wouldn’t consider the record inflated, 9-0 perhaps doesn’t tell the tale of how good she actually is. She can fall back on her athleticism at times, which has caused her to drop rounds to more technical fighters. In fact, her last fight saw her drop enough moments to cause a split with Jane Osigwe, who is just 5-4 in her career.
The strength of schedule clearly favors Ferreira here. She’s been in there with Andressa Romero, Flor Hernandez, Ana Palacios and a number of other highly touted atomweight prospects. Her technical prowess allowed her to outpoint each of them as she brought smart control and lots of quickness to her grappling game.
The line of this is likely only close because of the travels for Ferreira and the change in weight class. That shouldn’t be enough to overcome just how good she is.
