Matt Dewoskin ATS College Basketball Picks Record (Est 11/3/2025)

All Selections: 71-47-2
Perfect 3-0 Cards: 9-31

DePaul at Wichita State

Start Time: 12:00 PM EST

DePaul enters this game with a 7-3 overall record and a 5-5 record ATS. This is the Blue Demons’ first true road game of the year.

Wichita State comes into this matchup with a 6-4 overall record and a 7-2 record ATS. The Shockers are 5-0 at home with a 4-0 ATS record.

The DePaul basketball program is in a much better place than it was two years ago, but the play is still to fade the Blue Demons on the road. First, DePaul hasn’t played in a truly hostile environment this year. Wichita State may not be as lit in mid-December as it normally is, but it’s still a tough place to play.

Wichita State also plays defense. This shouldn’t surprise anyone, but DePaul has faced a run of low-majors that really can’t compete with Big East athletes on the defensive end. The Shockers will make life difficult for an offense that’s gotten used to eating against mediocre competition. The Blue Demons have played four games against teams that would rate as mid-major or better. They’re 1-3 with the only win coming against a Georgia Tech team that seems already checked out on the season.

Wichita State is the better rebounding team by a wide margin. This will matter in a matchup in which the DePaul offense will likely struggle. The Shockers are also better at shooting from range and better at defending the perimeter. DePaul also has a look ahead to the start of Big East play against St. John’s and UConn in their first two conference games. Lock up Wichita State to roll as the home favorite.

Best Bet: Wichita State -5.5

Utah Valley at UC-Santa Barbara

Start Time: 2:00 PM EST

This game is played in Salt Lake City, UT, as a part of the Salt Lake Slam MTE.

Utah Valley comes into this matchup with a 7-3 overall record and a 4-4 ATS record.

Santa Barbara enters this game with an 8-2 overall record and a 1-1 road record. The Gauchos are 3-5 ATS and 0-2 ATS on the road.

This is essentially a home game for Utah Valley. Orem, UT, is only 40 minutes away from Salt Lake City.

UC-Santa Barbara is off back-to-back home wins and played in a chippy MTE in Las Vegas. What’s odd is that the best team they’ve faced coming into this game is Nevada. A case could be made that Utah Valley is a better team

Utah Valley is better than UCSB on both ends of the floor. The Wolverines are a top-75 defense in the nation, and they average over 80 points per game. UVU’s losses are against Boise State, Fresno State, and San Diego State. They clipped UC-Irvine early in the year and have a win over Bowling Green.

This line is a little short because UCSB has played well recently, it’s technically at a neutral site, and Utah Valley just struggled to get past Idaho State. Utah Valley should roll against the Gauchos coming in fat and happy AND having to play at elevation. Lock up the Wolverines to win and cover the number.

Best Bet: Utah Valley -4.5

Hofstra at Syracuse

Start Time: 4:00 PM EST

Hofstra comes into this game with a 7-4 overall record and a 3-4 road record. The Pride is 8-1 against the spread and 6-1 ATS on the road this year.

Syracuse enters this matchup with a 6-3 overall record and a 5-0 home record. The Orange are 5-4 ATS and 3-2 ATS at home.

Hofstra has proven that they can go into hostile territory and compete. The Pride have won four of their last five. That stretch includes road wins at Penn and at Pittsburgh.

Syracuse just struggled to put away St. Joseph’s in a neutral-site game. The Orange also struggled to get past Monmouth in Syracuse. The only losses on their record are against Power-Five schools in the Players’ Era tournament.

The Pride is the better shooting team in this matchup. They can also grab rebounds and are careful enough with the ball that they won’t fall all over themselves. The Pride is also a top-100 free-throw shooting team in the country. They’ll make shots, hit free throws, and attack the glass. Syracuse will get the win, but Hofstra will stay within the number. Lock up Hofstra and the points.

Best Bet: Hofstra +10.5
