While the UFC continues to be the king when it comes to MMA and gambling, there is more MMA than ever to bet on now. Promotions all over the world as well as domestic ones are showing up in sportsbooks. The advantage here is that the data is usually quite a bit less sharp than when you’re making MMA predictions for the UFC. MMA Regional Pick of the Week: LFA 213
LFA Strawweight Fight: Cara Greenwell vs Gabi McComb
Card Start Time: Saturday (7/26), 10:00pm EST (UFC Fight Pass)
Although it is a little chalky, the best value on the whole card is the moneyline on Gabi McComb. Some might see her 1-0 professional record – with no amateur fights – and wonder why we could be so confident. However, she’ll already proved to be a world class martial artist.
In the years prior to turning to MMA, McComb earned herself a second degree black belt in jiu jitsu under Andre Galvao. She also proved that she was deserving of that distinction as she won world championships in both the gi and no-gi. She easily picked up a submission in her first fight and that was well above her natural weight class. She’ll be down to 115lbs where she belongs for this one and it should make the grappling even easier.
On the other side, she gets Cara Greenwell. In her Fury Challengers Series fight, she was submitted easily by Wendy Anundson. Anundson has since gone 1-2 and hasn’t come close to another submission since.
With a discrepancy in the grappling, McComb should find a submission quick and easy on Saturday night.
