We’ve reached the end of the NBA Summer League. Sunday will be the final day of games. There are more games in play than just the finals, but it’s hard to handicap exactly what to expect in terms of who is playing for other teams. As a result, we focused in on the championship game and thing we found you a winner. Here’s my NBA Summer League prediction and best bet for Saturday, July 20th.
NBA Summer League Predictions & Preview For July 20th
Sacramento Kings vs Charlotte Hornets
Start Time: 10:00 PM EST
The Kings messed up our five-day winning streak in the semifinals. They took care of the veteran-led squad of the Raptors and did so in impressive fashion. The biggest piece of that was former Washington State Cougar, Isaac Jones, who seemingly couldn’t miss. However, the piece that makes them an undeniable champion this summer is the way they all commit to the boards. Four of their five starters pulled down five boards and three different bench players all pulled down three.
The Hornets definitely are a deserving team of being in the finals. They took it to a tough Thunder team that had been sharp throughout the Vegas Summer League. However, they are a lot less deep than the Kings. They largely allow just a couple of players to carry the load and that’s where I think they’ll falter.
I’ll go with the deeper, tougher team to raise the trophy on Sunday and to cover in the process.
