Underdog Fantasy – DFS Picks for July 8

Jordan Westburg – Higher than 1.5 hits + Runs + RBIs

On Friday, Westburg returned to the Orioles lineup for the first time in a week due to a finger injury. It didn’t take him long to get the bat going again. In the next two games he’d play, he’d post four hits, three RBI and three runs. Additionally, he’d knock a ball out of the park in each of those games. The Orioles then gave him a day off on Sunday, so that he could have two straight with the rest day on Monday. I expect more of the same when he gets back in that lineup Tuesday.

Logan Gilbert – Higher than 6.5 Strikeouts

Gilbert has been on a bit of a roll with his strikeouts as of late. Over his last four games, he’s only come up short of this projection one time. Even in that game, it was only short by half of a strikeout. He has the added benefit of facing the Yankees in this one, who come into Tuesday’s action ranked 27th in strikeouts in MLB (8.90 times per game). You’d have to imagine that Gilbert can at least maintain his numbers for this one.

Jacob Wilson – Higher than 1.5 Total Bases

What’t not to love about Jacob Wilson right now? The guy is hitting an absurd .335 on the year and has been maintaining that as of late. In his last four games, he’s only come in south of this number one time. That includes a couple of multi-hit games and a couple of extra-base hits. The Braves will throw 20-year old rookie Didier Fuentes, who hasn’t been amazing in his four starts. That should open up some opporunities for Wilson to keep this streak going.
