He did wind up closing on June with a profit, but might need a little help getting back in the black here. I’ve cooked up a best bet for Wednesday July 2nd for us. Best Bet For Tuesday (July 2nd): MLB Predictions
Minnesota Twins vs Miami Marlins
Start Time: 6:40 PM EST
For our play today, I’m heading to the sunshine state for an MLB pick. The Marlins have been playing some pretty good baseball as of late. They’ve won eight straight games and are averaging 6.75 runs per game in that stretch. To add to things, I like the starter they have on the bump for Wednesday. Janson Junk has flashed signs of being a damn good big leaguer. He has a 3.53 ERA and has held three of his last five opponents to one or fewer runs.
However, while I want to back the Marlins side, I’m not a big fan of what goes down in their bullpen. They rank 21st in the majors in bullpen ERA and their relievers have already given up 40 homers on the year. As a result, I’m targeting the first five line for them in this one.
One more reason to like them early in the game is just how bad the Twins have been scoring lately. Not only have they been shut out in back-to-back games, but they are also having trouble getting going. They have just six runs in the first five innings of their last five games combined (which comes out to 0.24 runs per inning in that span).
