Prelim Pick of the Week: PFL MENA 2
PFL MENA 2 Bantamweight Fight: Elias Boudegzdame vs Mehdi Saadi
Start Time: Friday (7/4) 12:00pm EST (DAZN)
One of the more underrated fighters in this bantamweight tournament is going to be Elias Boudegzdame. At 19-9 his record is not the prettiest thing we’ve seen. However, the level of competition is unmatched. He’s faced off with the likes of Bellator veteran Bubba Jenkins, who he went five hard rounds with in BRAVE CF. He’s also beat three UFC veterans in Austin Arnett, Masio Fullen and Walel Watson.
It’s not just the resume that we like in this one though. I also like the stylistic matchup with Saadi. Boudegzdame has shown some really solid wrestling and a great submission game. Notably, his win over Brice Picaud showed he could hit big slams. His submission skills should also not be in question being that 16 of his 19 wins have come that way. With Saadi also wanting a grappling match, he should play right into Boudegzdame’s hand.
