I’m old enough to remember the Minnesota North Stars’ heyday in the NHL, so I know the following parlay that I’m suggesting is sacrilegious. But, in the name of making a profit, I’m going ahead with it regardless. For my SGPN Parlay for Sunday (March 2nd): NHL Parlay, we’re headed to St. Paul, Minnesota, and Dallas, Texas. Let’s go get this paper!
SGPN Parlay for Sunday (March 2nd): NHL Parlay
Boston Bruins vs Minnesota Wild
Start Time: 3:30 PM EST
First to St. Paul, Minnesota, we go, where the hockey team is now called the Minnesota Wild, instead of the North Stars. That’s because the city of Dallas stole the North Stars franchise, dropped the ‘North’ from the team name, and won the franchise’s only Stanley Cup.
So I’m being heretical, and I’m parlaying the Dallas Stars with Minnesota’s ‘replacement’ franchise, the Wild.
The Wild have a great home-ice advantage historically, and the Boston Bruins are mediocre and could be missing star Brad Marchand tomorrow. So Minnesota on the moneyling is the first half of the parlay.
St Louis Blues vs Dallas Stars
Start Time: 6:00 PM EST
And, as mentioned, I’m taking the Dallas Stars on the moneyline as the second half of my parlay. The Stars are one of the strongest teams in the NHL on home ice this season, holding a 21-7-1 record at the American Airlines Center. They’ve beaten the St. Louis Blues in both of their previous meetings this season and are more than a goal better than the Blues tomorrow, according to my math.
Best Bet Parlay: Minnesota ML + Dallas ML (+133)
Overall Record: 64-155 (29%)
Profit (based on $100/bet): -($1,873.00)
Return on Investment: -9%
