While the UFC continues to be the king when it comes to MMA and gambling, there is more MMA than ever to bet on now. Promotions all over the world as well as domestic ones are showing up in sportsbooks. The advantage here is that the data is usually quite a bit less sharp than when you’re making MMA predictions for the UFC. So we’ve decided to dig into some each week to get you started on your regional MMA journey. This week, we stay domestic for Fury FC 102 from San Antonio, Texas for our regional MMA pick.

MMA Regional Pick of the Week: Fury FC 102
Fury FC Bantamweight Fight: John Yannis vs Jessie Rosas
Card Start Time: Friday (2/21), 6:30pm EST (UFC Fight Pass)
In the bantamweight title fight this Friday, I’m going with John Yannis. There’s a couple of reasons why I like this line here.
The first of which is that he does an excellent job of cutting off the cage and making his opponents fight backwards. That’s given him a chance to be a bit more comfortable letting his hands go and, as a result, makes him quite a bit more dangerous.
Another reason I like this side is that I think the books are overestimating the wrestling abilities of Rosas. Being the older brother of Raul Rosas Jr., the books seem to think that’s a skill that comes in genetics. Otherwise, we would not see a line this close. From what I can see prior, his wrestling lags behind him little brother quite a bit.
If that wrestling can’t get Yannis down, I don’t like Rosas’ chances to avoid being pieced up on the feet. Give me Yannis at a discount on Friday.
