NBA Predictions & Preview For Saturday, January 4th

Phoenix Suns vs Indiana Pacers

Start Time – 7:00 PM EST

The struggling Phoenix Suns take their dysfunctional show on the road tomorrow night for a date with the Pacers in Indianapolis. The Suns will be without Jusuf Nurkic and Royce O’Neale, with Bradley Beal being questionable.

Even a healthy Suns squad might not cover the spread here against the Pacers. Phoenix is only 5-9 on the road, and by my calculations, Indiana should be a 3.5-point favorite tomorrow night.

Atlanta Hawks vs Los Angeles Clippers

Start Time – 10:30 PM EST

There are quite a few unknowns heading into this game – most notably the status of Jalen Johnson, Trae Young, James Harden, and Kawhi Leonard (edit – Kawhi has since been ruled out for Saturday). But I’m still comfortable getting in on the Los Angeles Clippers on the spread at home against the Atlanta Hawks.

The Clips are a very solid 11-6 at home, and Atlanta is playing the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night, so this is a road back-to-back for them. Los Angeles should be favored by 8.5 points in this spot.
