NBA First Scorer Props – November 9

Chicago Bulls vs. Atlanta Hawks

Tipoff – 7:30 pm EST
State Farm Arena – Atlanta, GA
Broadcast – NBA TV

There are only eight teams in action today, but still plenty of good matchups in terms of the early game action. Perhaps the biggest of those mismatches is in Atlanta. After being one of the worst tip guys last year, Nikola Vucevic has picked up right where he left off. He’s won just one of the nine tips he’s been in on this year. As a result, the Bulls have scored first just once all season. The Hawks are on the other end of the spectrum with Clint Capela getting 70% of the tips – and the same amount of first buckets as well.

With seven successes already, we have plenty of data for who scored early on the Hawks. Three of those come from the same player – Zaccharie Risacher. While that’s already a lot of bulk, I think it could be even higher. He’s taken one of Atlanta’s first two shots in four of the last five games. Not only is he getting a lot of that action, but for some reason, his number is still pretty high for Saturday’s game.

First Scorer Bet for November 9: Zaccharie Risacher (+700)

UTAH Jazz vs. San Antonio Spurs

Tipoff – 5:00 pm EST
Frost Bank Center – San Antonio, TX
Broadcast – NBA TV

The Jazz aren’t near the top of league in much. They aren’t only 1-7, but they have the worst point per game total in the league. However, they are leading on the early game stats. In fact, they’re first in the NBA in both tipoff win percentage and first bucket success rate (87.5% each). The Spurs are another good team in terms of the tip, but are scoring first in just 33.3% of their games. With a slight advantage on the tip and a big advantage with the scoring, we’ll take the visitors in Saturday’s early game.

The Jazz often like to come out shooting in a game. They shoot a high percentage of outside shots early in the game. We should see even more of that in this game with Victor Wembanyama in the middle. Additionally, the Spurs allow 37.6% of their points on three-pointers – which puts them sixth highest in the NBA. As a result, we’ll look for a guard to get busy early here. With Keyonte George banged up and questionable for today’s game, we’ll take a stab at Collin Sexton. He’s already scored first a couple times this year and the ball should be in his hands on the outside.

First Scorer Bet for November 9: Collin Sexton (+700)
