NBA First Scorer Props – November 4
Utah Jazz vs. Chicago Bulls
Tipoff – 8:30 pm EST
United Center – Chicago, IL
Broadcast – NBA TV
Of all the games on Monday, and there are 15 of them, this is the one with the clearest first bucket data. The Bulls, with Nikola Vucevic going the jumps, have won just one of their first six jumps. They have converted on a first bucket at the same rate – just 1-of-6. The Jazz are on the opposite side of things. Walker Kessler has won five of the six jumps that he’s taken. Additionally, the Jazz have scored first in all but one game. With all those indicators in place, we have to get on a member of the Utah squad this Monday.
With Lauri Markkanen all banged up, his replacement has been after the early shots – perhaps even more than he ever was. Kyle Filipowski has a first bucket and plenty of the early shots in the first two games that he’s started. He also has gotten busy with the three balls in those games. The versitility should give him many ways to score on this Chicago defense and I’ll look for him to get on the board first.
First Scorer Bet for November 4: Kyle Filipowski (+800)
Indiana Pacers vs. Dallas Mavericks
Tipoff – 9:45 pm EST
American Airlines Center – Dallas, TX
Broadcast – NBA TV
The Mavericks used Sunday to continue their league leading (trailing?) trend. They continued to be one of the only two teams remaining that have yet to score a first bucket. That’s already a tough trend to buck. Now we’ll add that they’re playing a back-to-back and against a team that is phenomenal on the early game activity. The Pacers and Mylers Turner have won four of the six tips that they’ve taken. They’ve also scored four of the six first buckets in the games they’ve played. That’s a wide enough game that you have to love the Pacers here.
In the four games in which they scored first, the Pacers have seen three different guys do the honors. However, we’re going with a fresh name here seeing a lot of early action. Pascal Siakam is getting a lot of early looks, but hasn’t cashed in yet. In fact, he’s taken the first or second shot for the Pacers in each of the last three games. It’s time that one of those counts for us and I think Monday is the time for that to happen.
First Scorer Bet for November 4: Pascal Siakam (+600)
