For my SGPN Parlay for Thursday (October 31st): NFL Parlay, we’re checking in on a matchup between two teams with opposite records and opposite positions in their respective divisional standings.

Houston Texans vs New York Jets

The two teams in question would be the 6-2 Houston Texans, who are sitting at the top of the AFC South standings, and the 2-6 New York Jets, currently residing in the basement of the AFC East. Yet, I’m taking the Jets on the spread tomorrow night. You can read more in-depth as to why right here, but basically, the Texans have overachieved and the Jets have underachieved and I expect things to revert to the mean. Plus, the Texans are without one of their top receivers, Stefon Diggs, for the rest of the season.
Secondly, I’m taking the over 42 points for the total on this game. Texans’ games have averaged 46 points this season, and they’ve beaten this 42-point total in three straight games. The Jets, meanwhile, only average 40 points per game, however, it’s trending up as they’ve topped 42 points in three straight games as well.
