NBA First Scorer Props – October 27
Philadelphia 76ers vs. Indiana Pacers
Tipoff – 3:30 pm EST
Gainbridge Fieldhouse – Indianapolis, IN

With Joel Embiid still out, Andre Drummond draws the tip duty for the 76ers. While that might not be ideal for the team, for first bucket props, it is a huge boost. Drummond only took ten tips last year, but managed to grab six of them. When you combine that with the first one he got this year, he’s got a 58.3% success rate in the small sample. More importantly one of the ones he won last year was against Myles Turner. Not only did Turner lose a tip to Drummond last year, but he tipped at a 41.5% clip last year and is 0-for-2 this year already.
One player is dominating the shot attempts for the 76ers in the first two games. Tyrese Maxley has already taken 54 shots in the two games they’ve played so far. He’s also getting busy early in those games. If you take the first three shots from both of those games, Maxley has half of the attempts for the 76ers. Maybe he’s not hitting at a great clip at the moment, but the bulk approach lends its way to him.

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Brooklyn Nets
Tipoff – 6:00 pm EST

This tip should be one of the easier ones to call on Sunday. Brook Lopez was solid already last season (60.0% success rate), but he’s been hot to start the season too. He’s grabbed both of the opening tips that he’s gone out for. It should be easy for him to keep that track going. He’ll face Ben Simmons who is doing the tip for the Nets as they go small on their starting lineup. Over the last two year, in a small sample, he has won just 28.6% of his tips.
There are two guys on the Bucks regularly getting open lools – Damian Lillard and Giannis Antetokounmpo. While Giannis is the more popular pick, the Bucks have been looking to fire from deep early in games so far this year. That would favor Lillard for Sunday’s action. Another reason to go that way is that Giannis has a banged up knee. While it might not keep him out of the game, it might make him take less of a dominant role in the game – especially as he tries to pace himself early.
