College Football Week 1: Saturday Underdog Fantasy Pick’em Plays
Cade Klubnik Higher Than 188.5 Passing Yards
I expect the majority of people to try to fade Klubnik and Co. here, but I am buying the ceiling. We cannot forget that this man was once a heavily touted prospect to take over after DJ U, but he never really peaked out. As time goes on, Klubnik surely has matured, and we still do not know how high his ceiling may be.
I am aware that he is facing one of, if not the best, defenses in the nation. This is a very benign line, but that factor is surely baked into it. I am buying Klubnik’s ceiling against this Georgia defense.
Graham Mertz Lower Than 238.5 Passing Yards
Mertz and Co. have a big test on their hands in week one. They welcome the hungry Miami Hurricanes before diving into the nation’s toughest schedule. Mertz was a solid passer last season and played much better at Florida than he did at Wisconsin.
I believe this game will be a war, and I do not expect a track meet. Florida will need to play slower if they want to defeat this Miami team. Mertz will throw the ball downfield less than we are used to, and the Gators will slow the tempo down.
