Dallas Mavericks vs. Boston Celtics

Tipoff – 8:30 pm EST
TV: ABC
Spread: Celtics -7
Total: 214.5

The Boston Celtics came out guns blazing in the first quarter, led by Kristaps Porzingis. This was a surprise to many after Porzingis missed 10 playoff games and well over a month of basketball action. Porzingis scored 15 points in the first quarter, coming off the bench for the Celtics. However, the game was evenly matched the rest of the way, 70-69 in favor of the Celtics.

Luka Doncic led the Mavericks in scoring and didn’t get much support from his teammates. Kyrie Irving scored 12 points off 6-19 shooting overall and was 0-5 from three-point land. Traditionally, the Mavericks have not fared well in Game 1 of the playoffs series under Jason Kidd. However, they do make the necessary adjustments and respond.

In fact, since the 2018 season, the Dallas Mavericks are 6-2 straight up and 6-2 ATS. I believe Kyrie Irving will bounce back in this game and expect Luka to have another big game. Since 2018, after a playoff loss, Luka is averaging 34.2 points per game. The key for the Mavericks will be getting off to a quick start. That was the Mavericks’ demise in Game 1.

Best Bet: Mavericks +7 and Mavericks +225
