The Minnesota Timberwolves have stayed their execution, for at least one more game. After being swept by the Dallas Mavericks over the first three games of their NBA Western Conference Finals series, the Wolves fought back and got the W in Game 4. On to Game 5, we go. NBA Picks May 30th
Dallas Mavericks vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
Tipoff – 8:30 pm EST
Spread: Timberwolves -5.5
Total: 209.5
Can the Minnesota Timberwolves push elimination off down the road once more in Game 5? They’re on their home court, so that’s a plus, although Dallas has already beaten them twice in the Target Center this series.
The good news for the visitors is rookie big man Dereck Lively could return on Thursday from his neck sprain. He’s formed a great two-headed center monster with Daniel Gafford for the Mavericks and would provide a big boost for them if he can get back on the court.
Is it crazy to expect Dallas to go 3-0 on the road this series? Maybe. I’m not positive they are going to win Game 5, but I have faith in them covering the 5.5-point spread for us. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving went 13-39 in Game 4, yet Minnesota only won by five. Chances are those two will be better tomorrow night. Mavericks +5.5 it is. No play on the total – the score was over the first three games, but went under last game, so I don’t have any confidence in playing the 209.5-point total.
