Things went according to chalk in the NHL’s Eastern Conference playoffs, as both #1 seeds are matching up here for the honor of playing in the Stanley Cup Finals. For my best bet for Game 1, I’m making a play on the total in Game 1.

And that play would be over 5.5 goals scored on Wednesday night in Madison Square Garden. The New York Rangers and the Florida Panthers were both well above average in scoring in the league during the regular season, combining for 6.6 goals per game. In their three head-to-head matchups during the regular season, all three games beat the 5.5 goal line set for Game 1. Plus, in the last round of the playoffs, they also combined for around 6.5 goals per game.
