Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – May 10
Pascal Siakam – Lower than 20.5 Points
Tyrese Haliburton had a breakout Game 2 for the Indiana Pacers, so I’ll stop fading him in my Underdog Fantasy lineups for now. His teammate Pascal Siakam, however….
I’m not sure why Siakam is projected to score 21 or more points tomorrow night. He’s only topped 20.5 points twice in eight playoff games this season, and they were the first two games in the first round. He’s gone lower than 20.5 points in six straight games and scored 14 on 7-18 shooting in Game 2.
Obi Toppin – Higher than 16.5 Pts + Rebs + Asts
My first Obi Toppin play of the year – and it’s a higher than! In the playoffs, no less! Former New York Knick Toppin is coming through these playoffs for the Indiana Pacers, including this series against his former employer.
To hedge against him not having back-to-back big scoring games, I’m going with higher than 16.5 points plus rebounds plus assists for him for Game 3. He’s topped this number in four straight games and six of seven. In fact, there have only been two games these playoffs where he’s failed to reach it (and in one of them he came close – 15).
Nikola Jokic – Higher than 21.5 Rebounds + Assists
You have to imagine the reigning MVP Nikola Jokic is going to step it up and have a monster performance in Game 3 against Minnesota, right?! But you can’t always count on him doing this via scoring, so I’m taking a rebounds plus assists play.
Jokic should easily get to 21.5 boards plus assists tomorrow night. He’s averaging 24.4 for the playoffs and has topped 21.5 in five of his seven playoff games this season, including last game.
