NBA Picks May 6th

Indiana Pacers vs. New York Knicks

Tipoff – 7:30 pm EST
Spread: Knicks -6.5
Total: 217.5

The Indiana Pacers upset the Milwaukee Bucks in Round 1 despite continued subpar play from Tyrese Haliburton and an up-and-down performance from Pascal Siakam. They’re going to need both of their stars to bring it nightly to get past the New York Knicks in Round 2.

Which I don’t think can be counted on, as Haliburton hasn’t been otherworldly since before the All-Star break. Jalen Brunson, however, has been for the Knicks, carrying them on his back. However, I think Indiana can keep this close, as they blew out the Milwaukee Bucks in numerous games in Round 1. The Pacers lose, but cover for us in Game 1.

Best Bet: Pacers +6.5 (-120)

Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Denver Nuggets

Tipoff – 10:00 pm EST
Spread: Nuggets -5.5
Total: 206.5

The Minnesota Timberwolves – and Anthony Edwards – took it to the champs in Game 1, beating them by seven on their home court. Yet the Denver Nuggets are favored by a point more in Game 2 than Game 1.

That’s because most are expecting what I expect – that Denver will not allow the Wolves to steal two games from them at home. Expect the best of the Nuggets to appear tomorrow night, and for them to cover the 5.5 points for us. But this series is going to be a dogfight.

Best Bet: Nuggets -5.5 (-107)
