Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – May 2
Joel Embiid – Lower than 30.5 Points
Calling Joel Embiid hobbled doesn’t even cover it. Even by his standards, these are snakebit playoffs for Philadelphia’s big man. At this point, the reigning MVP is running on fumes.
Embiid shot 7-19 in Games 4 and 5, scoring 27 and 19 points, respectively. He only topped this 30.5-point projection in Game 2 and Game 3. Being this beat-up, vision impaired, and worn down, I don’t see him being able to pull off the feat a third time in Game 6.
Pascal Siakam – Lower than 33.5 Pts + Rebs + Asts
After exploding out of the gate to start the playoffs, Pascal Siakam has come back down to earth (actually lower than earth – subterranean) over the past three games. He’s scored 17, 13, and 12 points, respectively, in those games.
But to protect against Siakam getting his scoring touch back in Game 6, instead of lower on his points I’m going to go lower on his points plus rebounds plus assists. He’s failed to touch this 33.5 line in the past three games.
Tyrese Haliburton – Lower than 33.5 Pts + Rebs + Asts
Finally, I’m going with the same play from my picks for Game 5 – Tyrese Haliburton lower than 33.5 points plus rebounds plus assists (except for Game 5 the number was set for 34.5).
The Indiana Pacers continue to win despite Haliburton not playing like the star he is. He’s averaging 15.8 ppg, 5.8 rpg, and 9.2 apg for the series, for a total of 30.8. He’s only topped 33.5 once in the series (his triple-double in Game 3) – I don’t think he’s going higher than in Game 6, either.
