Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – May 1

Derrick White – Higher than 16.5 Points

In Game 3 of this series, Whtie came up a tiny bit short of this projection with 16 points. In Game 4, he went bananas with 38 points, and it likely could have been more if some fouls were called. With that being said, I don’t expect the same kind of insanity out of him in Game 5. However, with Kristaps Porzingis out on Wednesday, it wouldn’t surprise me to see him closer to the Game 4 number than the Game 3 one.

Nikola Jovic – Higher than 1.5 Three-Pointers Made

There’s no Jimmy Butler, Terry Rozier, or Jamie Jaquez on Wednesday. That’s a lot of three-pointers lost from the usual. They’re going to be trailing in this game as well, which means they may have to shoot themselves back in. The last game was the first time in the series Jovic didn’t sink two deep balls. In that game, he shot four of them. With the increased opportunity, I think he does it easily.

Luka Doncic – Higher than 9.5 Rebounds

I also like the PRA number for Doncic in this game (which is just 51.5), but I think in order for him to hit that, he’ll need double-digit rebounds. Luckily for him, he’s hit that in all but one game in this series. He historically has rebounded quite well in the playoffs, particularly in the opening rounds. After all the talk about disappointing Kyrie Irving, I think he does for gaudy numbers all over the stat sheet.
