NBA Picks April 30th

Philadelphia 76ers vs. New York Knicks

Tipoff – 7:00 pm EST
Spread: Knicks -5.5
Total: 204

Are we on the verge of another early, injury-plagued playoff exit for Joel Embiid? Well, the injury-plagued part is a definite, as Embiid has found new ways to be hobbled this playoffs (see Palsey, Bell’s). And if Jalen Brunson stays supernova, the early exit part will happen as well.

Whether the Philadelphia 76ers season ends on Tuesday or not, I think they will cover the spread for us. The New York Knicks have only beaten them once by more than 5.5 points this series – the other wins for New York were closer than that. Look for the Sixers to at least keep it close as they battle for their playoff lives.

Best Bet: 76ers +5.5 (-111)

Indiana Pacers vs. Milwaukee Bucks

Tipoff – 9:30 pm EST
Spread: Pacers -3.5
Total: 216.5

The Indiana Pacers have the Milwaukee Bucks on the ropes heading into Game 5 in Milwaukee. Down 3-1, the Bucks will probably also be down their two stars – Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard.

But it’s the total that I’m making a play on, not the spread or moneyline. While 216.5 points might seem too high for a playoff game, that isn’t the case for this series. These teams have combined for 233, 239, and 239 over the last three games of this series, respectively. That includes the last game where there was no Dame or Giannis. Let’s go with the over for Game 5.

Best Bet: Pacers/Bucks Over 216.5 (-100)
