Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – April 29
CJ McCollum – Lower than 19.5 Points
With the Pelicans coming home to the Smoothie King Center, it seemed like McCollum had taken it as his personal responsibility to change the momentum. He shot 22 times – a series high for him – to go along with eight three-pointers. The end result was a measly 16 points. I think this approach led him to force things up, and as a result, he made them at a very low rate. He’ll either come out here playing more reserved to correct the ship or still forcing and missing things.
Nikola Jokic – Higher than 51.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists
In game four of the series, Jokic hit this projection easily. The combined category total for the game was 61, blowing this number out of the water. He’s also beat this projection in two of the last three games. Plus, if he needed more incentive to put up some gaudy numbers, he’ll get a chance to put the Lakers away for good at home on Monday.
Jalen Williams – Higher than 10.0 Rebounds + Assists
On the regular season, Williams was averaging 4.5 board to go along with 4.0 dimes. That wouldn’t sniff this projection, but he’s been much better in the postseason. In the three game stint, he’s averaging 7.0 rebounds to go along with 5.3 assists. He’s been playing more minutes as well, which is definitely helping him fill out the stat sheet, and there’s no reason to expect any of that to change for this one.
