Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – April 19
Jonas Valanciunas – Higher than 21.5 Points + Rebounds
In the first play-in game, Valanciunas’ stat line wasn’t exactly inspiring. He went for just four points and 10 boards. However, that’s because it seemed like Zion Williamson made the decision to do everything himself. The price of that decision was a strained hamstring and two week out. That injury should open the door for Valanciunas to get his usual scoring load or better, plus maybe tack on a few rebounds.
Tyler Herro – Higher than 5.5 1st Quarter Points
Over the past five games, Herro has beat this projection in four of them. This includes the first of the play-in games, where he scored six points against the 76ers. However, there’s even more reason to have optimism about him scoring early, and often for that matter. Jimmy Butler is likely to be sidelined for Friday’s contest with a knee injury. With the Bulls being pretty solid defensively in the missle and Terry Rozier already hurt, Herro should reap the benefits.
Domantas Sabonis – Lower than 0.5 Three-Pointers Made
I can’t believe that we’re still seeing this projection show up. Sabonis again went without a three-point in the play-in game. That puts him with nine attempts over the last thirteen games and just two makes. In other words, he’s making 0.15 three-pointers per game. I’d be surprised if he attempts many here being that they’ll have him rebounding against Jonas Valanciunas instead.
