NBA First FG Props – April 11
Chicago Bulls vs. Detroit Pistons
Tipoff – 7:00 pm EST
Little Caesars Arena – Detroit, Michigan
Broadcast – NBA League Pass
This game might not be the most exciting on Thursday’s docket, but it has some nice advantages when it comes to the first buckets. The Pistons are 11th in the league in first field goal success rate, which puts them 13 places and 6.3% ahead of the Bulls. They have an even better advantage on the tipoff, where they are 15.2% better than the Bulls. The Bulls rank 27th in the league in that category.
Jaden Ivey really took over the early part of the game for the Pistons last game. He made their first bucket and took their first two shots. He also had another possession where he was looking for the third of those shots, but turned the ball over. This isn’t a new trend either, as he had one of the first two shots in each of the last three games. He has also led the team in scoring in two of those contests.
First FG Bet for April 11: Jaden Ivey (TBD)
New York Knicks vs. Boston Celtics
Tipoff – 7:30 pm EST
TD Garden – Boston, Massachusetts
Broadcast – TNT
The Knicks, early in the year, were a solid team on the jump and on the first bucket. However, an injury led to seeing Isaiah Hartensteing getting all the jumps and things have been downhill since then. Hartenstein is getting just 22.7% of the tips, which puts the Knicks at a huge disadvantage to scoring first – the team who wins the tip scores first roughly 64.5% of the time.
The only problem with looking at this game is that the Celtics don’t really have anything to play for. I have to imagine Kristaps Porzingis and Al Horford will be taking the night off here.
Even Xavier Tillman seems like he’ll be taking a break. If that’s true, Luke Kornet will be the man in the middle. He’s taken four jump balls this year and has scored twice in those four games. Plus, he’ll have some stellar odds if he does, in fact, start.
First FG Bet for April 11: Luke Kornet (TBD)
