March wasn’t quite as fun making NBA picks as February was, but making plays on totals went well, at least. And we’ve got one more day to make March a good one. Here are my NBA picks for March 31st. Go here for the latest NBA odds.

NBA Picks March 31st
Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Denver Nuggets
Tipoff – 3:30 pm EST
Spread: Nuggets -5.5
Total: 211
The defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets have hit a bump in the road with Jamal Murray on the shelf again, dropping their last two games and failing to put 100 points up on the board in both outings. So I’m shy away from laying 5.5 points and picking them at home; I’m also not interested in the Cleveland Cavaliers on the road at altitude with Donovan Mitchell still easing his way back into game shape.
No, instead I’m making a play on the total, which has been my most successful play this month. I think this total is too low, even with Murray out (he’s currently listed as questionable for the game). I see the teams getting the score into the 220s for us.
Best Bet: Cavaliers/Nuggets Over 211 (-111)
Los Angeles Clippers vs. Charlotte Hornets
Tipoff – 6:00 pm EST
Spread: Clippers -15.5
Total: 215.5
Unless you’re willing to lay lots of points on road teams on Sunday, it’s a tough day to be making plays on the spread. So, once again, I’ll be making a bet on the total as the Los Angeles Clippers visit the Charlotte Hornets.
And that play would be the under on 215.5 points in this game. Charlotte has only made it out of the 90s once in their last five games, averaging 98 points over that span (but that was propped up by a 118-point game). The Clippers were much better, averaging 111, slightly down from their season-long average of 116. With the way the Hornets have been going lately, I think they’ll keep this under 215.5 for us.
Best Bet: Clippers/Hornets Under 215.5 (-110)
