Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – March 25
Jayson Tatum – Lower than 7.5 Rebounds
Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum is averaging 8.2 rpg this season, down from a career high of 8.8 last year. But, more importantly for this play, his rebounding is way down in March.
Tatum is only averaging 6.4 boards per game this month. He’s only topped this 7.5 rebound projection once in his last six games and twice in his last eight games. I’m counting on this trend to continue tomorrow night in Atlanta.
Dejounte Murray – Higher than 8.5 Assists
With backcourt running mate Trae Young on the shelf, Dejounte Murray has really stepped up his game for the Atlanta Hawks. For March he’s averaging 26.1 ppg, 5.3 rpg, 8.8 apg, and 2.3 spg. It’s his playmaking ability that we’re zeroing in on with this higher than pick.
Murray has double-digit assists in four straight games, including 12 dimes in his last contest. He’s topped this 8.5 assist projection in five straight games and six of seven. Let’s hope he does the same tomorrow against Tatum and the Celtics.
Nic Claxton – Lower than 0.5 Double Doubles
After an impressive run of double-doubles to kick off March, Nic Claxton has gone into a double-double slump. Which is great considering he’s on my fantasy team, but that’s another story.
Claxton is struggling to even get into double digits in points lately, failing to do so in two of his last three games and three of his last five. He’s failed to record a double-double in three straight games and four of his last five. Sadly I think the drought continues tomorrow night in Toronto.
