Philadelphia 76ers vs. Los Angeles Clippers

The numbers for the 76ers on the year have been ugly. However, they have a new weapon helping them out. Mo Bamba is now taking the tips and has a 70.0% success rate on them. Ivica Zubac is winning tips at a 29.8% rate, which means that the 76ers have a massive advtantage out of the gate.
In the games that Bamba has won the tip, he has been the primary first scorer. Since becoming a regular starter, Bamba has had half of his team’s first first buckets. The Clippers defensive presence on the inside isn’t all that special, so there is no reason to think that he won’t keep that trend going here.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Milwaukee Bucks

The numbers here on the first bucket are pretty close – to the point where we can’t really make a call as a result. They’re just 2.6% apart from one another in terms of first bucket success rate. However, the Thunder can separate themselves based on their tip percentage. They are getting the first possession at a much higher rate. They’re winning 9.5% more tips than the Bucks, which I think will be the decision maker here.
Josh Giddey and Chet Holmgren are both first bucket darlings. We’re coming off a Chet Holmgren win, but Giddey has been far hotter as of late. Not only is he taking more of the early shots, but he has three of the last five first field goal successes. Let’s ride with that action.
