Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – March 19
Zion Williamson – Higher than 25.5 Points
Maybe this Zion Williamson guy is good after all. The New Orleans Pelicans star is on a hot streak, playing up to the immense hype and potential he entered the NBA with back in 2019.
While he averages 22.6 ppg for the season, Williamson has topped this 25.5-point projection in four straight games. And his opponent tomorrow night, the Brooklyn Nets, have an average to below-average defense. I think Zion can hang at least 26 points on them on Tuesday.
Nic Claxton – Higher than 9.5 Rebounds
Let’s stick with the New Orleans vs Brooklyn game and go with a play on a Brooklyn player. I think their big man, Nic Claxton, is going to pull down double-digit rebounds.
The fifth-year pro is averaging a career-best 9.8 rpg, and has hauled in double-figure boards in two straight games, six out of his last seven, and seven out of the last nine. Yes, the Pelicans are a good rebounding team, but I still have faith in young Claxton.
Luka Doncic – Lower than 33.5 Points
I’m playing with fire here and I’m taking a lower than points play on Luka Doncic. But I have a hunch that 33.5 points is too high of a line for Doncic tomorrow vs the San Antonio Spurs.
First off, points are down across the league over the past month, so we’ve got that going for us. And Doncic has only scored 34 or more in a game once in his last three games. Plus, he was held to ‘only’ 27 points the last time he played the Spurs. I rest my case.
