A whole lotta stars could be chilling in street clothes tomorrow when action tips off in the NBA. Luka Doncic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, and Jimmy Butler are just a sampling of the elite players who are questionable – or out – on Sunday. With that in mind, here are my NBA picks for March 17th. Go here for the latest NBA odds.

NBA Picks March 17th
Denver Nuggets vs. Dallas Mavericks
Tipoff – 3:30 pm EST
Spread: Nuggets -3.5
Total: 225.5
The Denver Nuggets are in championship form as they roll into Dallas’s American Airlines Center for tomorrow’s matinee against the Mavericks. The defending champs have won five straight and 11 of their last 12, and all their key players are healthy. They’ve also won five straight games on the road, bringing their away record up to 20-14.
While all that is good info, the main key for this game is whether or not Luka Doncic plays. As of now, he’s questionable, as is Dante Exum, while Josh Green is definitely out. An undermanned Mavericks team is no match for this Denver juggernaut. The Nuggets cover the 3.5 points for us. No play on the total.
Best Bet: Nuggets -3.5 (-109)
Brooklyn Nets vs. San Antonio Spurs
Tipoff – 7:00 pm EST
Spread: Spurs -1
Total: 220.5
Now this isn’t a very good matchup, now is it?! The 26-41 Brooklyn Nets travel to San Antonio to face the 14-53 Spurs. I don’t trust either team enough to play the spread or moneyline here.
However, I will play the Total. Games going Under is still a thing in the NBA, as scoring remains down over the past month or so and the Totals at the books haven’t completely adjusted to reflect this yet. Based on their past five games, I’d expect this game to end in the low 210s. So Under 220.5 is the play here.
Best Bet: Nets/Spurs Under 220.5 (-110)
