Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – March 15

Jimmy Butler – Lower than 11.5 Rebounds + Assists

Jimmy Butler may be playing the lowly Detroit Pistons tomorrow, but I still think his projected rebounds plus assists total of 11.5 is too high. Plus, Detroit has won two straight and three of four – look out!

Butler averages 5.5 rpg and 4.8 apg for the season, which by my math is lower than 11.5. He’s averaging 10.9 combined for March, and hasn’t topped this 11.5 projection in two straight games and three of his last four (five of his last seven if you want to go back even further). Lower than 11.5 rebounds plus assists it is then.

Paolo Banchero Lower than 12.5 Rebounds + Assists

Everything I just wrote about Jimmy Butler applies to this Paolo Banchero play as well. See above. But I guess I should elaborate.

Banchero averages 6.8 rpg and 5.3 apg this season, so slightly below this 12.5 projection. But he hasn’t gotten to 13 combined in three straight games and four of five. Like Detroit above, Toronto (who Banchero is up against tomorrow) is crummy, but I still see the Orlando star coming below this 12.5 mark.

Franz Wagner – Lower than 18.5 Points

Let’s stick with the Orlando Magic and take the lower than 18.5 points for Banchero’s teammate, Franz Wagner. Sure, Toronto is crummy and seriously undermanned currently, but Wagner is in a scoring slump.

His 20.0 ppg average on the season would make him appear to be a higher candidate here, but he’s been ice-cold lately. He’s missed this 18.5-point mark in three straight games and six of his last seven games. He’s only averaging 14.8 ppg in March. Let’s hope he remains cold up north tomorrow.
