Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – March 13
Nic Claxton – Higher than 10.5 Points
The Orlando Magic, who Nic Claxton and the Brooklyn Nets are playing tomorrow, are a top-notch defensive squad. But I think setting Claxton’s point total at 10.5 is still too low.
Brooklyn’s big man is averaging 12.3 ppg for the season, and has topped 10.5 points in six straight games and seven of his last 10 contests. He scored 10 points last time he played Orlando – I think he can squeak out at least one more point this go around for us.
Cade Cunningham – Higher than 22.5 Points
I’m going to keep going to the Cade Cunningham well, despite him coming up a point short in the last game I took the higher for him. But he’s up against the lowly, mega-injured Toronto Raptors tomorrow, so higher than 22.5 points is the play.
Cunningham is averaging 22.6 ppg for the season and 23.3 ppg in March. He’s topped 22.5 points in three of his last four games, with his lone miss a 22-point effort in his last game. And he scored 30 points in his last outing versus the Raptors.
Nikola Jokic – Higher than 24.5 Points
Nikola Jokic is a reluctant scorer, but he’s still averaging 26.2 ppg this season. And he’s turning it up as we inch closer to the playoffs, with his scoring output up to 30.6 ppg for March.
This includes five straight games scoring at least 25 points, including two games of 35 points. He also dropped 27 in a game against the Heat last month. Let’s look for him to get higher than 24.5 points tomorrow in Miami.
