NBA Picks March 5th
New Orleans Pelicans vs. Toronto Raptors

Spread: Pelicans -5.5

The Toronto Raptors have turned into a MASH unit, with Scottie Barnes, Bruce Brown, and Jakob Poeltl all out for tomorrow’s game versus the Pelicans due to injuries. New Orleans, meanwhile, should be healthy coming into the Scotiabank Arena, and – more bad news for the home team – the Pelicans are one of the NBA’s best road teams. At 18-13, they are the sixth-best away team this year.
The Pelicans cover the -5.5 for us. No play on the total – it’s right in the range I projected it to be.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Brooklyn Nets
Tipoff – 7:30 pm EST
Spread: 76ers -1
Total: 220
Let’s go with another road team for our second play and take the Philadelphia 76ers over the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets are playing on Monday night, so this will be a back-to-back for them. And they lost on Monday to the lowly Memphis Grizzlies. Not a good look.
Philly is one of the NBA’s best road teams with a 16-12 record. And they’ve won two straight games. Philly -1 is too good to pass up. As is the Over 220 – I see this game getting into the high 220s.
Best Bet: 76ers -1 (-105); 76ers/Nets Over 220 (-111)
