NBA Picks March 3rd
Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics
Tipoff – 3:30 pm EST
Spread: Celtics -7.5
Total: 234
The Boston Celtics are a wagon this season. A wagon rolling down a steep hill, destroying everything in sight. This is especially true in the comfy confines of Boston’s TD Garden, where they have the NBA’s best home record, 28-3.
Golden State heads into Sunday’s game minus Andrew Wiggins, with Stephen Curry and Brandin Podziemski also questionable to suit up. Boston may be missing Kristaps Porzingis (questionable with a contusion), but they’ve proven to have the depth to withstand that. Boston to cover is the play to make. No play on the total as it’s in the correct range in my eyes.
Best Bet: Celtics -7.5 (-109)
Detroit Pistons vs. Orlando Magic
Tipoff – 6:00 pm EST
Spread: Magic -8.5
Total: 220.5
While the Detroit Pistons are no longer the worst team in the NBA, thanks to the Washington Wizards having one more loss than them, they are still pretty pretty pretty bad at 9-50 on the year. And on Sunday they hit the road to face one of the NBA’s best home teams, the Orlando Magic.
The Magic are a stellar 20-8 in the Kia Center, giving them the seventh-best home record in the NBA. They’ve won three straight games at home, two of them by double-digits. The Magic -8.5 is my pick. Let’s sprinkle a bit on the Over as well, as I think this game gets into the high 220s.
Best Bet: Magic -8.5 (-109); Pistons/Magic Over 220.5 (-110)
