NBA Picks February 28th
Dallas Mavericks vs. Toronto Raptors
Tipoff – 7:30 pm EST
Spread: Mavericks -3.5
Total: 245
My knee-jerk reaction was to take the Dallas Mavericks minus 3.5 on the road in Toronto tomorrow. However, the Mavs are playing on the road tonight in Cleveland as well. And they lost the opening game of this Eastern Conference road trip to Indiana on Sunday by 22 points.
Plus, Toronto has been playing well recently, currently riding a three-game winning streak. So, instead, I’m playing the Under on the total – it’s close to 10 points higher than I projected it to be.
Best Bet: Mavericks/Raptors Under 245 (-110)
Sacramento Kings vs. Denver Nuggets
Tipoff – 9:00 pm EST
Spread: Nuggets -5.5
Total: 232.5
The Sacramento Kings let me down on Monday, losing to a severely undermanned Miami Heat team. So, it’s time to fade them. The real reason is they are playing the defending champion Nuggets in Denver on Wednesday night.
And the Nuggets are steamrolling teams of late, winning their last three games by 20, 16, and 15 points, respectively. I see them handling the Kings tomorrow night and covering the 5.5 points for us. No play on the total – it’s right in the range it should end in.
Best Bet: Nuggets -5.5 (-109)
