Underdog Fantasy NBA Daily Pick ‘Em Plays – February 24
Jalen Brunson – Lower than 27.5 Points
I had Jalen Brunson pegged to get us at least 30 points in his last game, and he only got 21. Fool me once… That’s not the real reason I’m taking him lower than 27.5 points for Saturday – the main reason is he’s going up against one of the league’s top defenses in the Boston Celtics, with their two-headed defensive guard monster of Jrue Holiday and Derrick White. Plus, with all the injuries the New York Knicks currently have, the Celtics will really be able to zero in on stopping Brunson.
Jaylen Brown – Higher than 19.5 Points
I do like a Jaylen with a ‘y’ – Jaylen Brown – to beat his points projection for Saturday’s game against the Knicks. Brown is averaging 22.0 ppg for the season, and has topped the 20-point mark in two straight games and three of his last four. It looks like his February cold streak has been snapped and he’s back firing on all cylinders.
Derrick White – Higher than 14.5 Points
Brown’s teammate Derrick White is going to feast tomorrow against the Knicks as well, if all goes according to my plan. White is averaging 15.8 ppg for the season and has topped this 14.5-point projection in three straight games and five of his last seven. He’s another guy who had a few quiet scoring nights earlier this month that seems to be affecting his point projection here.
